Site/School-Based Mentoring
High School Big Program:
The High School Big Program is similar to our traditional site & school-based programs with one difference. In certain areas we offer the opportunity for high school students to take part in mentoring a younger youth within their school district. Students must be at least a sophomore and able to commit to one full calendar year of mentoring. These matches meet during school hours at a time that is convenient for both the Little and the Big.
Offered at:
Fall Creek School District
AUGUSTA SCHOOL DISTRICT
New Richmond School District
Traditional:
Site Specific Programming
This form of mentoring is a structured program where the child and the volunteer meet at a set date and time at the child's school or at a specific site for about an hour each week. The volunteer and the child spend time at the site doing activities they both enjoy such as playing games, doing puzzles, playing catch, sharing stories, etc. This program is also referred to as Lunch Buddies which is school-based, Club Buddies which meets at the Boys and Girls Club, or Friends Program which meets at UW-River Falls.
