Who We Serve
Big Brothers Big Sisters serves children who face adversity in their life. Big Brothers Big Sisters targets children who need us most, including those living in single parent homes, growing up in poverty, and coping with parental incarceration. Starting something begins with finding a great match between a Big and a Little. Making these matches and performing all of the background work involved with them is possible because of donations from people like you.
The children in our program are referred from parents, teachers, counselors, social workers, and some even refer themselves. In the Community-Based mentoring program, the parent or guardian must enroll the child in the program. In the School/Site-Based mentoring program the school counselor or site supervisor (with parent approval) recommends children for the program.
